Users may either dial in or text in and leave a recorded message to provide location information.

These systems allow the higher risk users to be provided with a GPS telephone, or a GPS telephone may be pooled between several users and used when the situation requires.

The display above shows a GPS user logged in together with their information.

The shaded display shows a normal mobile location (GSM), The shaded circle gives an approximate estimate of the GSM error circle. The green LW shows the satellite fix.

Whilst a GSM (mobile) can be used the accuracy can vary from around 100 metre to kilometres and therefore may not be considered suitable for locating a lone worker without additional location information. See below for examples of both GPS and GSM fixes.
The satellite location can be accurate to metres and therefore provides much a much more accurate location method.
